I agree, and I believe that both you and I are in the same boat. I generally sympathize more with Democrats, but think in the context of a conservative. I don't believe that people should get free hand-outs from the government unless they earn it. I also don't believe in amnesty or aid of any sort for people who entered this country illegally, or over-stayed their visas.

Liberal Dems go on and on about how these now college-age illegals have been here in this country since they were five years old and "deserve aid", but it's really not that difficult to go and get your citizenship test to become legal when you reach that age. That's just laziness on their part.

I too am a fan of Bill Maher, even if I don't fully agree with everything that he says. I disagreed a lot with his recent comments about the Michael Brown shooting. Not every white-on-black crime is based in racism. Al Sharpton and his minions just need to drop it.

Out of curiosity, how difficult are the citizenship tests in the US? I've heard that they can be really difficult, to the point where people born in the US would fail it.

I think both Republican and Democrats have good and bad points. But the recent Republican party is insane.

If these kids that have been here since they were 5 and have gone through the American school system (as almost all of them have), then I don't see why it would be so difficult.
It's different if these people come here when they're older.
And I don't believe you have to re-pay to take the test if you fail it the first time.

However, my step uncle was from Canada, lived there nearly his whole life, and decided to go for his citizenship test when he was 60, and he didn't have a problem with it. He passed, and he's a duel citizen now.
